The Bible has the solution, but does anyone want to hear it?
As our society departs further from the truth of God’s word and power hungry politicians find new ways to destroy America, it may seem counterintuitive to avoid the political arena.
But that’s exactly what the Bible prescribes.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Pay close attention to that verse. Change doesn’t emanate from ballot boxes, protests or petitions – it starts with Christians.
IF. MY. PEOPLE.
The Biblical response to the decline of America is right in front of your eyes. Christians have to humble themselves, pray, seek God and turn from their wickedness. If Christians commit themselves to being disciples of Christ, God can heal our land. If Bible-believers decide to turn off the television and get serious about serving Jesus, God can reverse the dissolution of our civil liberties and the degeneration of our culture.
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
Psalm 146:3
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Psalm 118:8-9
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
It may seem counterintuitive, but the only way to Make America Great Again is to unplug from the political process altogether and get more spiritual. The Lord can subsequently respond by exalting godly leadership and reversing the damage done by the enemy.
For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
Psalm 75:6-7
Instead of hyperventilating about every news story the media breathlessly shoves down our collective throats, I want to see a generation of Bible-believing Christians respond to the decline of America by reading the Bible more, hating false doctrine more, soul winning more and dwelling on the things of God more.
Remember what the Bible said: IF. MY. PEOPLE.
